I started drawing when I was very young, but stopped drawing for almost 6 years after I graduated from High School as I thought I needed to focus on getting a real career. Unfortunately I was not told that there was a substantial career in the thing that I love, Art.
In 2012, I had started doodling again due to some personal stresses I was having at home and work, and many of my co-workers encouraged me to make a living out of it. I had several friends at that time that were in the industry, so I asked for them to review my work. The reviews were NOT good. But they were what I needed to get my head in the game. Everything I was doing at that time was wrong. But I now had a direction and put my nose to the grindstone. Over the next year I made huge leaps in improvement and had my first sit down with Walt Disney Imagineering. Overall, the sit down went well, but I wasn't quite ready at that time.
I spent the next year working on getting better with Digital painting and really trying to focus on where I want to go with this as a career.
Now after 5 years of intensive study and continuous practice I have expanded to Printmaking, Storyboarding, Digital Painting, Drawing, and Illustration. And I did all of this while still maintaining a full time job as an IT professional. It was not an easy journey, but I live for the Journey more than the destination.
